Comments: My father Alan Hollingsbee was posted to HMS Opossum from august to december 1946. Opossum was in Sydney undergoing a refit so dad was lent out to Gould, Controller and then Tamar. I have researched Gould and Tamat but just what is 'GONTROLLER'? he spent 10 days lent to controller from 3rd september to 13th september 1946. If anyone can help me I would be most obliged.# Thank you, Ian

Comments: My uncle, bill hollins commanded opossum at the end of the war,he was my fathers brother. i remember uncle bill, even though he died when i was about two or three in NZ. I sit here typing this in my home in cambodia with a framed opossum logo in front of me which i presume came from the wardroom oif the ship. I also have a funny framed poem from his previous ship the bideford signed by the boys in the wardroom. Does anyone have any recollections of my uncle? Ironically the opossum came up the mekong river to phnom penh in 1956?

Comments: I have been trying to track down details of my elder brother Lance Gregory. He was on the '57-'58 commission crew, and Fred Woodhams has posted a picture of him in the crew photo's "gregory at terror pool".He was probably best know for his prowess on the cricket pitch. Any information about him would be gratefully received.

Comments: My Dad servedon HMS Opossum. Not too sure when but I know he receives your newsletter. Unfortunately he is dying from Mesothelioma which he contracted through his naval service. He does talk fondly of his service. His name is John Blair and he lives in Girvan
